Job description

Equation Staffing Solutions is proud to be the partner of choice for the City of Calgary’s temporary staffing needs. We are seeking a Data Administrator to join their team for a 3+ month contract, working 2 days per week, assisting with data collection, cleaning, analysis, and reporting tasks. Responsibilities:

  1. Support the design, collection, management, and analysis of data from various teams within the City, including primary data collection (e.g., surveys) and secondary sources (e.g., databases, reports).
  2. Clean and wrangle large datasets to ensure data consistency and quality for analysis.
  3. Develop and optimize Excel workbooks for data entry, utilizing advanced Excel functionalities such as formulas, data validation, macros, and pivot tables as needed.
  4. Create, maintain, and update Power BI dashboards to aid in data visualization and provide actionable insights.
  5. Participate in measurement, evaluation, and learning activities as required for data collection, management, and analysis.
  6. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure proper understanding and use of data insights.
  7. Assist in the development and maintenance of reporting frameworks and documentation.

Qualifications:

  1. Completed 2-year diploma in Statistics, Data Science, Computer Science, or a related field.
  2. At least 2 years of experience in data analysis, data management, or a similar role.
  3. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint), with advanced skills in Excel (e.g., macros, complex formulas, pivot tables).
  4. Strong proficiency in Power BI, including the ability to design, maintain, and update dashboards.
  5. Previous experience with measurement and evaluation frameworks is an asset.
  6. High attention to detail with strong organizational skills, and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
  7. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain complex data insights to non-technical stakeholders.
  8. Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to adapt to changing priorities in a dynamic team environment.
