We specialize in infrastructure, telecommunications, and energy solutions for the telecom industry. Our expertise includes Engineering & Design, Site Acquisition & Entitlements, Permitting & Zoning, Inside / Outside Plant Engineering, Project Management, Construction, Installation, and Equipment Maintenance.

Purpose :

The Field Engineer is responsible for inspecting, walk testing, and installing equipment, turning up and commissioning DAS systems and BDA's (such as SOLID, ADRF, COMBA, WESTEL, NEXTIVITY, WILSON, etc.), RF troubleshooting, directing crews or workers on site, conducting research, and reporting on project status. They activate BDA's on public safety radio networks, optimize wireless communication systems like radio and cellular, and ensure efficient data and signal transmission while minimizing interference and optimizing signal strength and coverage.

Responsibilities :

  • Define the project scope of work.
  • Understand requirements and obtain authorization to proceed from the FCC licensee.
  • Understand requirements and obtain authorization to proceed from the AHJ.
  • Evaluate RF signal strength and quality.
  • Turn up and commission DAS systems and BDA's.
  • Identify sources of potential RF interference.
  • Grade and document RF signal strength and quality test results.
  • Understand system design and layout.
  • Provide parameters for system design applications.
  • Validate selected system equipment (BDA and non-BDA solutions).
  • Plan headend (physical layout, structural, and architectural considerations).
  • Review and finalize system layout.
  • Validate bill of materials (BOM).
  • Perform commissioning, acceptance testing, and maintenance activities.
  • Complete acceptance process.
  • Represent MIS professionally on-site to the customer.
  • Lead and direct technicians and apprentices in DAS installation.

Qualifications :

  • Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Computer Science, or equivalent work experience.
  • Over 3 years' experience in the telecommunications DAS industry, preferably in a technical role.
  • Knowledge of platforms such as P25, EDACS, Public Safety Networks, LTE, CDMA, UMTS, GSM; familiarity with test equipment like PCTEL, Anritsu sweep / PIM.
  • Introductory understanding of RF engineering concepts including antenna, line, RF theory, propagation modeling; eager to learn in a changing technical field.
  • ERCES-NICET level 2 certification preferred but not required.
  • Certifications with ADRF, Westell, Comba, Nextivity, PCTEL, and Solid are preferred.

Other Qualifications :

  • Legally authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Innovative problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively.
  • Flexibility to support night or weekend work; overnight travel may be required.
  • Valid driver's license with a good record.

Compensation : $80,000 - $90,000 annually.
