A civil engineering firm in Metro Vancouver is seeking a Dam Safety Engineer for an initial 1-year contract. The role involves ongoing dam surveillance, performance assessments, and compliance reporting. The ideal candidate has a degree in Civil Engineering, at least 8 years of experience with large civil assets, and must be a registered Professional Engineer in British Columbia. The position requires full-time onsite presence, and local candidates are preferred.
Contract duration: Initial 1 year contract with potential to extend based on workload and performance. These projects are expected to go beyond a 1-year period.
Overview:
The Dam Safety Engineer will provide ongoing dam surveillance and performance assessment, so that conditions which might impact dam safety are identified in time for correction. This role requires regular or occasional attendance at the client's workplace(s) and as such will be subject to the client's Contractor Vaccination Policy. This policy requires all contractor resources to be fully vaccinated by January 10, 2022 or prior to the work assignment start date whichever date is later. It requires a full-time onsite presence so local candidates or those that will relocate for the contract duration are asked to apply. No FIFO option.
