Riedbow Dairy Ltd. in Elm Creek, Manitoba is hiring a Dairy Farm Worker to assist with day-to-day operations on the dairy farm reporting to the farm manager. Qualifications

• Some experience in dairy farming is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Feed and tend high productive dairy cows and youngstock.
• Clean beddings and barns.
• Assist with the milking process and operate the milk robot as needed.
• Recognize and report cows in heat or health issues.
• Operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment.
• Check water basins and air flow in barns.
• Maintain facilities and farm infrastructure including cleaning stables and barns.
• Follow food safety, bio-security procedures.

Riedbow Dairy Ltd. is a commercial dairy operation located in Elm Creek, MB. They milk approx. 950 cows using milk robots and are currently seeking a Dairy Farm Worker (NOC 85100, 2 vacancies).

Position Summary: Reporting to the farm manager, the Dairy Farm Worker is responsible for assisting with carrying out day-to-day activities on the dairy farm.

Duties include:

• Feed and tend high productive dairy cows and additional youngstock
• Clean beddings and barns
• Assist with the milking process, bring cows to the milk robot if necessary, recognize and report robotic error messages
• Recognize and report cows in heat
• Recognize and report disease and health problems in young calves and other livestock
• Operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment
• Check and monitor water basins and air flow in barns
• Maintain or assist in the maintenance of facilities and farm infrastructure including cleaning stables, barns, barnyards.
• Follow food safety and security and animal bio-security procedures
