We are looking for a passionate Senior Combat Designer to join the design team for our Dungeons & Dragons project.
In this role, you will be responsible for the creation and development of combat systems in collaboration with the project's various teams.
You will be in charge of designing tactical, balanced, and immersive battles that are consistent with the game world. You will contribute to the ongoing optimization of combat mechanics to provide a fluid and engaging experience.
Main Tasks
Design, balance, create prototypes for, implement and fine-tune combat mechanics, systems and content, including weapons, abilities and behaviours of players and enemies
Generate new ideas to create or improve combat mechanics
Collaborate with programmers and animators to integrate the various combat mechanics
Evaluate the game in terms of design objectives and identify problems and opportunities to improve the player experience
Maintain constant communication and regular follow-ups with the various departments
Qualifications
A minimum of 5 years' professional experience in game design
Excellent knowledge of the game market
At least one title published on console/PC while in a game design role
Passion for video games and in-depth knowledge of combat mechanics
Strong written and spoken communication skills, especially for clearly documenting game concepts
English-French bilingualism is an asset
