Compensation Range: $38.38 - $49.89

The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual salaries will be set within this range based on factors including experience, education, qualifications, and internal equity.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare cellular specimens, examine them using light microscopy, and report abnormalities.
  • Perform microscopic screening and interpretation of gynecologic specimens, including reviewing clinical history, referring abnormal smears to a pathologist, and recording diagnoses.
  • Rescreen 10% of negative high-risk cases.
  • Handle non-gynecologic specimens, including gross description, cellular preparation, and diagnosis reporting.
  • Assist with special procedures like fine needle aspiration and endoscopic brush cytology.
  • Assist in accessioning and staining of gynecologic specimens.
  • Provide informal instruction to pathology residents in cytology.
  • Develop and update instructional workshop materials for cytology.
  • Stay updated on new cytology techniques through professional meetings and journals.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree and completion of an approved cytotechnology training program, or equivalent experience.
Certifications
  • ASCP certification or equivalent required upon hire.
