  • Work inside the wind turbine enclosure at approximately 300 feet elevation.

Job description
Overview

Siemens Energy is seeking a Wind Technician for the Cypress wind farm. Safety and Quality are central to our culture, and the ideal candidate will focus on both while delivering excellent service to customers.

The technician will work with a multi-disciplinary team to ensure top performance on our wind farms and may require a flexible schedule, on-call work, and the ability to analyze and resolve problems independently. The role involves working with complex systems in challenging environments and contributing to the development of field procedures and best practices.

What You’ll Do
  • Responsible for the service, maintenance and troubleshooting of Siemens Gamesa SG4X wind turbines at the Cypress site near Lomond, Alberta.
  • Provide excellent service to customers by completing services and paperwork on time.
  • Work inside the wind turbine enclosure at approximately 300 feet elevation.
  • Receive extensive training on safety and technical job requirements.
  • Meet physical requirements including ladder climbing, long periods of standing, lifting, bending, twisting, working above shoulder level, pushing/pulling, exposure to vibration, chemicals, confined spaces and extreme weather.
  • Capable of taking on additional roles and responsibilities at an operating wind farm.
What You Bring
  • Knowledge in electrical systems, including PLC programming and converters.
  • Ability to work safely and effectively in a team environment.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills with a focus on quality, plus the ability to analyze and resolve problems independently.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel).
