The Cybersecurity Operations Expert will drive the cybersecurity operational activities for Varian MDO (Multi Disciplinary Oncology) cloud program. This role will lead and support ongoing cybersecurity operations, work with business, product engineering, enterprise cybersecurity, IT, and other cross-functional teams to facilitate seamless security operations (SecOps). You will use your security background and cloud knowledge to design and deliver tailored security solutions that address current cloud security challenges and set a solid foundation for future success.

You are responsible for:

  • Working with business leaders, IT teams, and other cross-functional teams to drive SecOps efforts and deliver advanced cybersecurity solutions. Acts as a lead to cross-functional peers, subordinates, and senior management regarding cybersecurity operations issues, resolutions, and enhancements.
  • Leading and implementing cloud security controls, security assessments, and audit activities for cloud certification activities like SOC II certification.
  • Reviewing and enhancing security operational processes and capabilities in major areas such as Vulnerability Management, Threat Detection, SIEM (Security Information and Event Management), Identity Management, Incident Response, and Disaster Recovery.
  • Actively participating in implementation planning, driving and monitoring execution, and managing risks and issues of cybersecurity operational activities using metrics and KPIs (Key Performance Indicators).
  • Leading discussions with cloud-business units for security incidents from the outset, coordinating and performing forensic analysis, surfacing gaps, and advocating lessons learned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of relevant experience in cybersecurity or IT infrastructure.
  • Strong infrastructure background and experience working with security management teams for threat management, vulnerability management, and incident management.
  • Experience with cloud platforms like Azure.
  • Familiarity with Security Operations capabilities, including SIEM, endpoint protection, firewalls, IDS/IPS.
  • Strong background in industry frameworks and certifications like NIST CSF, SOC II, ISO 27001, GDPR.
  • Ability to understand and articulate the 'Cybersecurity Operations' roadmap.
