Job summary

Regional District of Okanagan-Similkameen is seeking a regular, full-time Network/Cybersecurity Analyst to join the Information Services team. The role focuses on maximizing the use of technologies to meet operational needs and security standards for internal and external processes.

The position emphasizes IT security incident handling, network infrastructure support (firewalls, VPN, wi-fi), policy development, and coordination with industry peers and consultants.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary degree in Computer Science/Computer Engineering or related field.
• Certifications such as MTA, MCSA, MCSE, CCNA, CCIE, CCSP are assets.
• Minimum five years of IT, network security and communications support experience, including VOIP.
• Working knowledge in Windows OS, Windows Server, Cisco ISE, MSSQL Server, Cisco IOS.
• Knowledge of virtualization and SAN.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks with deadlines.
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision.

Responsibilities

• Develops, maintains and supports systems to identify IT security threats and responses.
• Coordinates identification, assessment and reporting of IT security incidents.
• Evaluates IT solutions for business needs, costs and security impacts.
• Assists with planning, implementation, monitoring and resolution of IT infrastructure and network issues.
• Maintains network security and remote access security including MFA and RBAC.

Education

Post-secondary degree in Computer Science/Computer Engineering

Certifications such as MTA, MCSA, MCSE, CCNA assets
