Job summary

Export Development Canada (EDC) is seeking a Cybersecurity Engineer to strengthen security across our digital platforms in a hybrid work environment. The role focuses on embedding security into cloud and on‑premise solutions, identifying vulnerabilities, and driving security tooling and automation.

You will partner with infrastructure and delivery teams, perform threat modelling, and support AI/ML security considerations, reporting to the DTS security program.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 7 years of hands-on cybersecurity engineering, application security, cloud security, or a comparable technical security role.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to translate security risk into business terms.
• Familiarity with cloud security (Azure preferred; AWS/GCP valued).

Responsibilities

• Partner with infrastructure, cloud, and application teams to embed security controls across EDC's technology stack.
• Identify security gaps and vulnerabilities, prioritize remediation, and develop tactical plans with owners.
• Design and implement security tooling, hardening standards, and automation to improve security baseline.
• Contribute to threat modelling, security architecture reviews, and emerging tech assessments.
• Monitor threat landscape and translate findings into actionable improvements.
