About Us: Amanda & Amber Business Consulting is a boutique Human Resources firm supporting small & medium-sized organizations across Canada. We are a women-founded team, emphasizing work-life harmony, community involvement & client-centered engagement. We are seeking a casual/part-time intermediate HR consultant to join our growing team. This role is primarily remote, with some in-person meetings or projects. Calgary or Vancouver-based applicants will be prioritized due to in-person requirements.
The Role:
- Client-Facing HR Support: Serve as the main contact for multiple clients, providing proactive HR support as a fractional HR Business Partner or HR Generalist.
- Build strong relationships and embed yourself in client teams, offering timely, thoughtful advice aligned with their goals and values.
- Provide coaching and guidance to management and executives across HR services including employee relations, policies, performance management, training, career development, engagement, onboarding, recruitment, and compensation.
- Support clients on daily HR needs, project work, and people strategy implementation.
Employee Relations & Compliance:
- Investigate HR issues from reporting to resolution, maintaining confidentiality and integrity.
- Advise clients on employment legislation and compliance across provinces and territories.
- Support involuntary terminations, restructuring, and performance management professionally and carefully.
Project Management & Culture Work:
- Manage multiple client projects with clear communication and strong client service.
- Support culture audits, engagement surveys, and action plans based on results.
- Assist with HR metrics and KPIs development, monitoring, and reporting.
Training, Development & Business Development:
- Contribute to workshops, training sessions, and webinars.
- Research new topics, develop solutions, and collaborate with the team.
- Identify and pursue opportunities to grow business with existing and new clients.
General: Most work is remote, with occasional in-person meetings or projects. Maintain a professional, responsive approach in all client interactions.
Requirements:
Must-Haves:
- 10+ years of progressive HR experience, with at least 5 years supporting multiple clients or complex organizations as an HR Business Partner.
- Confidence handling all HR operations including employee relations, investigations, documentation, performance management, policies, and compliance.
- Strong knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices across Canadian jurisdictions.
- Excellent communication, critical thinking, and influencing skills to guide clients through complex or sensitive situations.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects independently.
- Tech-savvy, comfortable working remotely with tools like Teams and SharePoint.
- Availability for 15-20 hours weekly, with at least 75% overlapping core hours (Monday-Thursday 8:30 am - 4:30 pm MT; Friday 8:30 am - 12:30 pm MT).
Nice-to-Haves:
- CPHR designation, HR-related degree or certification.
- Experience with unionized environments, non-profits, or US teams.
- Workplace investigations certification.
- Strong analytical skills.

- Location: Calgary, AB

- Salary: $50.00 to $55.00 per hour
