Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular vulnerability scans and assessments using Qualys to identify and report on system vulnerabilities.
  • Analyze scan results, prioritize vulnerabilities based on risk impact, and generate actionable reports for IT and business stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with IT and CyberSecurity teams to develop and implement remediation plans for identified vulnerabilities.
  • Track and report remediation progress, ensuring timely closure of vulnerabilities in line with established SLAs and compliance requirements.
  • Conduct regular access hygiene assessments to ensure appropriate access levels are maintained across corporate systems and applications.
  • Monitor and enforce access controls in line with the Company’s compliance policies, identifying and addressing discrepancies.

Position Summary

This client is seeking a skilled Cybersecurity Analyst specializing in vulnerability analysis and reporting, utilizing the Qualys platform. Our team is responsible for overseeing critical cybersecurity controls and ensuring the integrity of our IT environment. We work to maintain a robust security posture and support organizational compliance with industry standards. This role also encompasses access hygiene analysis and compliance enforcement to ensure adherence to security standards and policies. The successful candidate will join the System Controls and Monitoring Team, playing a vital role in the Company’s proactive cybersecurity defense and compliance initiatives.

What you will be doing:

Primary Function – Vulnerability Analysis and Reporting

  • Conduct regular vulnerability scans and assessments using Qualys to identify and report on system vulnerabilities.
  • Analyze scan results, prioritize vulnerabilities based on risk impact, and generate actionable reports for IT and business stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with IT and CyberSecurity teams to develop and implement remediation plans for identified vulnerabilities.
  • Track and report remediation progress, ensuring timely closure of vulnerabilities in line with established SLAs and compliance requirements.
  • Continuously optimize vulnerability scanning and reporting processes to enhance security posture.

Secondary Function – Access Hygiene and Compliance Enforcement

  • Conduct regular access hygiene assessments to ensure appropriate access levels are maintained across corporate systems and applications.
  • Monitor and enforce access controls in line with the Company’s compliance policies, identifying and addressing discrepancies.
  • Support compliance audits by providing access data and working with internal teams to address any identified issues.
  • Assist in the development and improvement of access governance practices, including role-based access control and least privilege principles.

You Have:

  • Experience: 1–3 years in cybersecurity, with a focus on vulnerability management and access compliance. Experience within the Oil and Gas industry is an asset.
  • Technical Skills:
    1. Proficiency with Qualys Vulnerability Management.
    2. Familiarity with Identity and Access Management (IAM) principles and best practices.
    3. Experience with compliance and governance frameworks (e.g., SOX, PCI).
    4. Working knowledge of SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk), cloud platforms (AWS, Azure), and general IT infrastructure.
  • Education: University or college degree in IT, cybersecurity, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills. Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
