National Bank of Canada is seeking a Cybersecurity Advisor within the Data Protection team. The role focuses on preventing data exfiltration at rest and in transit and advancing DLP controls across platforms.

You will analyze events and contribute to operational security, policy development, and dashboards to measure control effectiveness. Reporting to the Cybersecurity and Operations management team, you will collaborate across teams, support on-call activities, and help scale data protection

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field and a minimum of five years of relevant experience in cybersecurity and data protection.
• Experience with Data Loss Prevention (DLP) solutions.
• Experience using prompts and queries with artificial intelligence tools.
• Proficiency with data analysis, reporting, and dashboarding tools.
• Knowledge of Agile methodology and its core practices.
• CISSP or CISA certification, ISO 27002, CIS, or NIST security control frameworks is an asset.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills to convey cybersecurity requirements to stakeholders.

A career as a Cybersecurity Advisor within the Data Protection team at National Bank means acting as a specialist in preventing the exfiltration of data at rest and in transit.

This role allows you to make a positive impact on our organization through your expertise in cybersecurity, data protection, and Data Loss Prevention (DLP) solutions.

Your role

• Design, implement, and enhance data exfiltration prevention controls across various platforms and Data Loss Prevention (DLP) solutions.
• Analyze and investigate security events to improve data protection controls and contribute to specialized operational activities, including on-call support when required.
• Develop and enhance capabilities for discovering, classifying, and detecting sensitive data across various technology environments.
• Collaborate with monitoring, architecture, technology delivery, security, and business teams to design and deploy new data protection services and controls.
• Contribute to the development and evolution of cybersecurity policies, norms, and standards, as well as the definition of performance and risk indicators and dashboards to measure control effectiveness.
• Identify opportunities to leverage automation and artificial intelligence to improve operational efficiency and request processing.

Prerequisites

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field and a minimum of five years of relevant experience in cybersecurity and data protection
• Experience with Data Loss Prevention (DLP) solutions.
• Experience using prompts and queries with artificial intelligence tools.
• Proficiency with data analysis, reporting, and dashboarding tools.
• Knowledge of Agile methodology and its core practices.
• CISSP or CISA certification, as well as knowledge of ISO 27002, CIS, or NIST security control frameworks, is considered an asset.
• Strong collaboration and synthesis skills, influencing abilities, and the ability to clearly communicate cybersecurity requirements and controls to a variety of stakeholders.
