Job summary

G&W Products is seeking a Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) to join our Hamilton, Ontario team. The role involves evaluating welds, ensuring workmanship and safety standards, and supporting documentation in a manufacturing setting.

Ideal candidates will hold an AWS CWI, have 2+ years of weld inspection experience, and be proficient with weld symbols, blueprints, and GD&T. The position requires ability to lift 45 lbs and work with measuring equipment on site.

Qualifications

• AWS Certified Weld Inspector (CWI) is required.
• 2+ years of weld inspection experience required.
• Proficient at reading weld symbols and blue-print drawings.
• Manufacturing experience is preferred.
• Experience with D1.1 and Ground Combat Vehicle Welding code for aluminum and steel.
• Capable of using measuring equipment (e.g. fillet gauges, calipers, height gauges).
• Proficiency in GD&T.
• High School Diploma or Equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Observe testing and confirm welds meet required standards.
• Partner with Weld Inspection leaders to develop and approve weld documentation.
• Perform weld audits.
• Complete other duties as assigned.

Certified Welding Inspector (CWI)

G&W Products is a leading contract metal manufacturer and fabricator. Founded in 1968, we specialize in metal stamping, laser cutting, fabrication, manual and robotic welding, tool and die work, powder coating, and assembly. Our three Fairfield, Ohio facilities provide 190,000 square feet of manufacturing space and serve industries including construction, transportation, energy, and defense. We are now hiring a Certified Weld Inspector.

This position works closely with weld supervisors, leads,and welders toconduct dimensional and weld inspections and verify workmanship, quality, and safety standards.

What do I need to bring?

• Must be AWS, Certified Weld Inspector (CWI)
• 2+ years of weld inspection, required
• Must be proficient at reading weld symbols and blue-print drawings
• Manufacturing experience,
• Experience with D1.1 and Ground Combat Vehicle Welding code for aluminum and steel
• Capable of using measuring equipment (i.e. fillet gages, calipers, height gages, etc.)
