Job summary

GDI Integrated Facility Services in Vancouver is seeking a reliable light duty cleaner to support client sites with thorough cleaning across common areas, washrooms, kitchens, and lobby spaces.

You will perform floor care including vacuuming, mopping, scrubbing, trash/recycling tasks, stocking supplies, and routine maintenance of cleaning equipment. Part-time schedule Thursday to Sunday on site, with emphasis on safety, teamwork, and consistent quality.

Qualifications

• Must be able to take direction, work with minimal supervision, and function cooperatively as part of a team.
• Requires attention to detail, pride in delivering excellent service, organization, and high levels of energy and endurance.
• Ability to use cleaning tools and equipment. Experience with auto scrubbers is an asset.
• Dependable and have reliable transportation.
• Must pass a Criminal Record Check.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, dry mop, and wash floors and stairwells using manual and power scrubbing equipment as applicable.
• Vacuum carpets and matting in offices and common areas. Spot clean daily and shampoo rugs in assigned buildings.
• Maintain and carry out preventative maintenance procedures on floor machines, vacuums, automatic scrubbers and buffers.
• Empty garbage and recycling containers, replace liners, and transport garbage/recycling to collection points.
• Ensure washrooms and kitchens/kitchenettes are fully cleaned including fixtures, walls, mirrors, countertops, and floors; replenish consumables.
• Spot clean walls, doors, kick plates, etc. removing marks and smudges from vertical surfaces.
• Clean elevator(s) as applicable.
• Monitor possible defects such as clogged urinals and lights out.
• High dusting and wall washing.
• Additional duties as required.

General Description

A light duty cleaner is generally responsible for cleaning tasks including but not limited to hard surface floor cleaning, carpeted area vacuuming, dusting, cleaning washrooms and kitchenettes, and the collection of garbage and recycling.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Maintain and carry out preventative maintenance procedures on floor machines, vacuums, automatic scrubbers and buffers.
• Additional responsibilities as applicable to site:
• Empty garbage and recycling containers, replace liners, and transport garbage/recycling to collection points
• Ensure washrooms and kitchens/kitchenettes are fully cleaned including: clean/disinfect and polish fixtures and appliances as applicable, door handles, walls, mirrors, countertops, partitions, waste receptacles and floors.
• Replenish supply of consumables such as: toilet paper, hand towels, soap, sanitizer, etc.
• Spot clean walls, doors, kick plates, etc. removing marks and smudges from vertical surfaces.
• Clean elevator(s) as applicable.
• Monitors possible defects such as clogged urinals and lights out
• High dusting and wall washing.
• Additional duties as required.
