Kudo Energy Services is urgently seeking a qualified and experienced CWB Level 2 QC Inspector for an upcoming shutdown at MEG Energy’s Conklin facility. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in welding inspection, with certifications in CSA W178.2 and ASME B31.3, and a commitment to ensuring the highest standards of quality and safety.
Conduct visual inspections of welding operations to verify compliance with CSA W178.2 and ASME B31.3 standards.
Ensure that welding procedures are followed and that welders are qualified per applicable codes.
Identify and report any substandard quality of work during fabrication.
Examine finished welds for compliance with applicable codes, standards, specifications, and drawings.
Maintain detailed records of inspections, including acceptance or rejection decisions.
Collaborate with project teams to address quality issues and implement corrective actions.
Participate in quality audits and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Certified Welding Inspector (CWB Level 2)
CSA W178.2 Certification
Code endorsement in ASME B31.3 – Process Piping.
Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Level 1 welding inspector under qualified supervision.
Proven experience in welding inspection within industrial or oil & gas environments.
Strong knowledge of welding processes, metallurgy, and inspection techniques.
Familiarity with nondestructive testing methods (MT, PT, UT, RT) is an asset.
Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
Valid safety certifications (e.g., CSTS, H2S Alive, First Aid) are preferred.
This position is based in Conklin, Alberta, for the duration of the shutdown project.
