Job summary

Aerotek is seeking a Cutting Machine Operator for a large GMP-compliant facility. You will independently operate high-speed cutting and packaging equipment, monitor performance, conduct quality inspections, and ensure safe, accurate packaging of products.

You will follow GMP guidelines, wear proper PPE, and participate in rotating shifts in a 24/7 environment. This contract position is onsite in East York, ON, with overtime and safety shoe reimbursement as part of the package.

Qualifications

• Must be able to operate production or packaging machinery in a manufacturing setting.

Job Title: Cutting Machine Operator

The Cutting Machine Operator independently operates, monitors, and adjusts high-speed packaging and production equipment in a large GMP-compliant manufacturing facility. This role focuses on machine operation, quality checking finished products, and packaging boxes to meet efficiency, safety, and output goals while maintaining strict quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Independently operate high-speed cutting and packaging machines in a production environment.
• Monitor equipment performance and make necessary adjustments to maintain efficiency and output targets.
• Perform routine checks on machinery to ensure safe and reliable operation.
• Conduct quality inspections on products to confirm they meet established standards and specifications.
• Package products into boxes accurately and efficiently, following established procedures and GMP guidelines.
• Follow all GMP and safety protocols, including proper use of PPE and adherence to facility rules.
• Support general labor tasks as needed to keep the production line running smoothly.
• Collaborate with team members and other crews to ensure consistent production flow.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area in accordance with GMP and facility housekeeping standards.
• Complete production-related documentation and reports accurately as required.
• Perform basic forklift duties in support of machine operation and material movement, as assigned.

Essential Skills

• Proven ability to operate production or packaging machinery in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience with machine operation, including monitoring and adjusting equipment during production.
• Backgrou nd in production, packaging, or general labor in a fast-paced facility.
• Understanding of GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) and ability to follow regulated procedures.
• Capability to perform quality checks on products to ensure compliance with standards.
• Basic forklift accreditation, with the ability to perform entry-level forklift tasks.
• Ability to work rotating continental day and night shifts (7 AM7 PM and 7 PM7 AM) in a 24/7 facility.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety and cleanliness.
• Physical ability to stand for long periods, handle materials, and perform repetitive tasks.

• Experience in a large, automated manufacturing or packaging environment.
• Comfort working with state-of-the‑art, heavily automated equipment.
• Willingness to focus primarily on machine operation with additional forklift responsibilities as needed.
• Flexibility to work different shifts and adapt to rotating schedules; candidates who can only work days or only nights may be considered for contract opportunities.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills in a high-volume production setting.

Work Environment

This role is based in a large manufacturing facility that operates under strict GMP standards, with heavily automated, state-of-the‑art equipment and a temperature‑controlled, very clean environment. Team members must comply with GMP requirements and wear appropriate PPE, including hairnets, beard nets, coats, and safety shoes. The facility employs approximately 400500 people, with around 100 employees per crew across four crews. It operates 24/7 on rotating continental day and night shifts (7 AM7 PM and 7 PM7 AM). A typical schedule rotates between days and nights on a weekly pattern, balancing workdays and days off. Safety shoes are required, and the environment emphasizes cleanliness, organization, and adherence to safety and quality procedures.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of East York, ON.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.50 - $19.50/hr.
