The Customs team supports the business as the importer of record and oversees internal controls that support efficient customs operations and align with Baker Hughes IET customs standards.

As a Customs Compliance Specialist, you will be responsible for achieving and maintaining an effective, efficient, and compliant customs operation program for Baker Hughes IET entities.

Responsibilities include:
  • Acting as the primary contact for customs operations, facilitating process enhancements and adherence, and managing queries from internal stakeholders, customers, and vendors.
  • Processing notified imports timely and resolving inquiries related to imports.
  • Filing customs declarations and issuing clearance instructions to customs brokers.
  • Preparing customs documentation and resolving transactional issues with brokers and logistics providers.
  • Assessing and improving current customs processes for efficiency and quality.
  • Retaining all customs documents per regulations and policies.
  • Managing customs regimes and special programs, ensuring compliance and accurate duty and VAT liabilities.
  • Reviewing customs declarations and broker invoices, reporting findings, and initiating corrections.
  • Ensuring accurate and timely filing of customs declarations, maintaining regulatory excellence.
  • Monitoring shipments and resolving issues, supporting complex transactions.
  • Providing guidance on customs topics and collaborating with International Trade Compliance.
  • Supporting Customs Special Programs and reporting KPIs.
  • Analyzing global and regional trade processes.
