Job description

Our client is in import and export and is looking to find a Customs and Tariff Specialist to review their program.

It is a 6 month contract looking for someone responsible for auditing and reviewing the business for customs compliance, import / export processes, and tariff classifications and declarations.

Vancouver office with WFH option.

Open to a consultant option or a full-time contract position for around 6 months for the project.

Responsibilities :

  • Ensure all imports and exports meet local and international customs regulations.
  • Review product classifications and ensure accurate tariff codes are applied to all imported goods.
  • Review all imports and exports, ensuring compliance with relevant reporting requirements. Assist in generating customs-related reports and data for internal audits.
  • Review shipping documents, invoices, and other import / export paperwork to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Provide training and guidance to internal teams (as needed) regarding customs regulations, tariff classifications, and import / export procedures.

Requirements :

  • Proven experience (3+ years) in customs, import / export compliance, and tariff classification, ideally within an importer / distributor environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of customs regulations, trade agreements, and tariff schedules.
  • Familiarity with HS codes, tariff codes, and customs declarations.

Open to discussion for consultant or contract for salary.
