Job description

This position is responsible for the completion of customs clearance documentation and processing of import documentation. The individual will act as a liaison with customers, internal teams/departments, and Customs personnel. They will assist in ensuring all entries are released, classified, and billed accurately within service standards. Additionally, this role involves assisting junior customs release staff with training and complex releases.

Key Responsibilities

1. Receive documents via email, fax, and mail.
2. Review documents for completeness (e.g., date, description, value) and ensure all necessary documents are received for processing.
3. Determine account number, ETA, and apply bar code to billing sheet.
4. Enter required information into the database system to produce entries.
5. Contact clients, branches, or brokers if additional documents or information are needed.
6. Respond to calls and questions from internal and external sources.
7. Trace shipments and set up pre-arrivals at Customs.

Qualifications

• A willingness to learn and retain information provided.
• Secondary School diploma or related experience is a great asset.
• Strong computer skills with data entry proficiency.
