Job role: Customs Compliance Coordinator
Location: Regina, SK

Brandt is currently looking for a Customs Compliance Coordinator for our Regina Location. As a Customs Compliance Coordinator, reporting to the Director of Traffic, you will be ensuring import and export clearance, working closely with our Customs Broker. A Customs Compliance Coordinator will be completing import and export entries on behalf of Brandt, auditing invoices and providing guidance to the various Brandt locations and personnel in both Canada and US. The role involves managing import/export documentation, coordinating with internal teams, clients, and regulatory authorities, and providing support to the brokerage team on customs-related matters. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Canadian Customs requirements (working knowledge of US customs requirements) and a proactive approach to compliance management.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with all CBSA and CBP regulations for all shipments, both import and export.
  • Review and manage customs documentation, including import/export declarations, bills of lading, commercial invoices, packing lists, and other necessary forms.
  • Liaise with both CBSA and CBP officials to resolve any compliance issues and respond to inquiries or audits from both agencies.
  • Monitor and stay up to date on changes in CBSA and CBP regulations, ensuring internal procedures are updated accordingly.
  • Advise internal teams and clients on compliance-related issues for both Canadian and US shipments.
  • Perform regular audits to ensure accuracy and compliance with both CBSA and CBP requirements.
  • Collaborate with customs brokers, importers, exporters, and other stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate processing of shipments.
  • Provide training and updates to staff on both CBSA and CBP policies and procedures.
  • Assist in developing and implementing strategies to streamline cross-border processes and ensure compliance across both Canada and the United States.

Required Skills

Required Experience

  • Education in Customs related course is required, or years’ experience will be considered.
  • Proven experience in customs brokerage, international trade, or related compliance roles.
  • Strong knowledge of CBSA and CBP regulations, procedures, and compliance requirements.
  • Knowledge of cross-border trade practices, documentation, and customs requirements for both Canada and the United States.
  • Experience managing both Canadian and US import/export declarations and customs audits.
