A consumer-focused cannabis company in Alberta is hiring a Financial Analyst/Junior Financial Analyst to join the accounting team. The role involves month-end close support, journal entries, balance sheet schedules, and cost accounting activities in a growth-stage startup environment.

Ideal candidates have 1–3 years of accounting experience, a diploma in accounting or equivalent, and solid knowledge of reconciliations and variance analysis. Location: Airdrie, Alberta, Canada.

Responsabilités

• Assist month-end close with monthly journal entries and balance sheet schedules.
• Perform AR/AP listing reviews and investigate deviations from expectations.
• Assist with regulatory requirements such as GST filings and Statistics Canada surveys.
• Assist with quarter-end reviews and year-end audit requests.
• Assist with plant cost accounting transactions.
• Support ad hoc analyses and day-to-day transactional needs.
• Communicate with internal and external stakeholders as needed.
• Perform other duties as requested by your manager.

About the Opportunity

• Assist with the month-end close process through the preparation and analysis of monthly journal entries, and balance sheet account schedules.


• Perform AR/AP listing reviews and investigate deviations from expectations.


• Assist with regulatory compliance requirements such as Statistics Canada surveys and monthly GST return filings.


• Assist with quarter-end review and year-end audit requests.


• Assist with plant cost accounting transactions.


• Support with ad hoc requests and analyses, as required.


• Internal and External Stakeholder Communications:


• Support internal team members with day-to-day transactional needs.


• Perform other duties as requested by your manager.

About You

• At least 1-3 years of experience in accounting or related areas


• Completion of a diploma in accounting or a combination of accounting related work experience and a diploma in a different specialty.


• Knowledge of full cycle accounting, reconciliations, and variance analysis.

Salary Range

$70,000 - $85,000/year
