Job summary

Canada Life is seeking a permanent, full-time professional to support the Group Retirement Services wind-up team. You will handle terminations, transfers, and member maintenance in GPAS while ensuring compliance with regulatory and internal processes.

A focus on customer service and strong communication is essential. Experience with pension plans, government regulations, and a collaborative mindset will help you succeed.

Qualifications

  • Bilingual French/English is an asset.
  • Knowledge of investment/retirement arrangements is required.
  • Customer service focused with a positive attitude.
  • Knowledge of legislative requirements for Registered Pension Plans is an asset.
  • Knowledge of rules and regulations related to GRS products is an asset.
  • Strong communication skills (both written and verbal).
  • Organized and able to work in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to multi-task and meet tight deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Outlook, Excel).
  • Reliability Status Security Clearance – cost covered after offer.

Job description

Permanent Full Time

Group Retirement Services (GRS) Wind-up team provides administration services for a variety of group products, including RRSP, RPP, DPSP, TFSA, Investment Only and various non-registered plan types. In this role you’ll contribute to the effective record-keeping and reporting for GRS customers. You should be proficient with the Group Pension Administration System (GPAS) and GRS processes.

What You Will Do
  • Handling plan termination, carrier transfer and member maintenance on GPAS
  • Ensuring plan sponsors follow procedures and provide documents that meet legislative requirements for terminating a retirement plan
  • Fostering relationships with plan administrators, brokers, advisors, plan members, and Customer Relationship Managers (CRM)
  • Managing various inquiries from multiple audiences including CRM, advisors and regulators
  • Handling plan terminations and reporting to regulators
  • Managing sensitive and complex issues, including plan mergers, carrier transfers-out, bankruptcy, and plan wind-ups

  • Reliability Status Security Clearance – this can only be completed with candidates who receive an offer of employment. This is a personal security status that is required as a condition of employment before an employee can gain access to Protected B information, assets or work sites as outlined by the Government of Canada website. The cost of submitting these checks will be covered by Canada Life

Given the size and scope of our organization, we have the flexibility for this position to be located in the following head office locations: London and Winnipeg.

The base salary for this position is between $48,400 - $68,800 annually. This represents base salary only and does not represent other variable compensation components of our total compensation ( i.e. annual bonus, commission etc).
