A 9.5% general salary increase will be applied effective July 2025.

The Utilities Customer Services and Business License Departments have an exciting opportunity available for an individual interested in joining the team as a Customer Service Representative. This position performs a variety of customer service functions in support of the City's utility billing, water, wastewater, and integrated waste operations, business license operations, and cashiering while maintaining frequent, positive interactions with the public and providing support for general billing, utility service, or business license inquiries.
The ideal candidate will have exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, the ability to work collaboratively with the public and City team members, possess leadership, initiative, analytical, and problem-solving skills, and be self-motivated with a growth mindset. This recruitment will result in an eligibility list, which will be used to fill full-time and part-time vacancies within this classification. If part-time opportunities arise, part-time employees may be scheduled to work up to 29 hours per week and are not eligible to participate in the City's health insurance or retirement plans.
Customer Service Representative I
Education: High School diploma or recognized equivalent.
Experience: One (1) year of customer service experience.
License: A valid California Class C driver license and an acceptable driving record at the time of appointment and throughout employment.
Special Requirements: Ability to type 40 words per minute.
Customer Service Representative II
Education: High School diploma or recognized equivalent.
Experience: Two (2) years of increasingly responsible customer service and clerical support experience, including experience using a computerized account billing or cashiering system.
License: A valid California Class C driver license and an acceptable driving record at the time of appointment and throughout employment.
Special Requirements: Ability to type 40 words per minute.
