Job Description

Reporting to the Customer Service Manager, the Customer Service Representative (CSR) acts as the liaison between customers and Polykar. Working closely with the sales team, the CSR assists with customer orders, cancellations, complaints, errors, and other queries.

Responsibilities
  • Input and process customer orders accurately (quantities, prices, items, etc.).
  • Communicate estimated arrival times to customers regarding their orders.
  • Maintain customer database and communication logs (e.g., updates on communication, price changes).
  • Respond to customer inquiries about products and suggest other relevant products.
  • Update and maintain customer records.
  • Record product or service issues in the customer complaint system.
  • Coordinate with Production and Shipping to ensure timely delivery and meet client needs.
  • Follow up with Production managers on orders and back-order statuses.
  • Participate in inventory counts and address system variances.
  • Contribute to team efforts by achieving related goals as needed.
  • Perform other duties as required.
Requirements
  • Post-secondary education in a relevant field is an asset.
  • At least 3 years of experience in a similar role and industry is an asset.
  • Knowledge of plastics products and markets is an asset.
  • Excellent communication skills (reading, writing, verbal) are required.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to analyze complex situations and solve problems; capable of making sound decisions.
  • Ability to multitask, adapt, and take initiative.
  • High tolerance for a fast-paced work environment and effective stress management.
  • Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Ability to learn new systems and software easily (e.g., ERP systems).
