Job summary

Safeway Liquor in Alberta seeks a dedicated clerk to deliver exceptional customer service while keeping the store tidy and inviting.

You will enter/scan items, verify prices, handle cash and deposits, balance the till, and meet productivity standards. The role requires standing for extended periods, lifting up to 20 kg, and adhering to safety rules. High school diploma is a plus, as is cash-register experience.

Qualifications

• Customer service oriented and able to interact with customers.

• Flexible shifts during business hours and overtime when needed.

Responsibilities

• Enter and/or scan the item(s) selected by the customer.
• Ensure entered/scanned prices are accurate and cancel transactions per standards.
• Handle cash and other payment methods and make deposits per policies.
• Balance the cash register.
• Meet productivity standards (sales/hour, entries/minute).
• Provide exceptional and attentive customer service.
• Bag items according to standards.
• Keep work areas and uniforms clean and well-maintained.
• Use equipment and supplies in a safe and efficient manner.
• Comply with established food safety and hygiene standards.
• Perform any other related duties.
