Reporting to the Assistant Manager Broker Service, you will assist members by providing product and service information, resolving member complaints, and assessing risks for automobile and property policies.
The core responsibilities include:
- Responding to telephone inquiries and written requests, processing changes into the computer system, applying underwriting standards, assessing risks according to binding requirements, and answering general account inquiries.
- Resolving product and service problems by clarifying member complaints, determining causes, selecting solutions, explaining them, expediting corrections, following up, and making recommendations to management.
- Attracting potential members by answering questions, providing product and service information, obtaining expiration dates, and meeting or surpassing sales objectives.
- Processing rewrites and remarketing following established guidelines.
- Filing and documenting insurance transactions, maintaining and updating rate manuals, including new coverage announcements.
- Maintaining a comprehensive log and diary system, reviewing and flagging contentious issues for discussion with management.
Qualifications:
This is the ideal candidate profile:
- A RIBO license is required; candidates not yet licensed will be enrolled in training and must obtain their license within three months.
- Completion or commitment to complete three insurance courses: CIP Principles and Practice Property 1, and Automobile, or equivalent courses.
- Experience in personal lines automobile and property insurance is an asset.
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite applications.
- Potential candidates with relevant skills but less experience are encouraged to apply and share why they are a good fit.
