About the Role:

Reporting to the Supervisor, Customer Service & Administration, you will provide a full range of customer services, including responding to residential and commercial account inquiries and service requests within an assigned area. As the first contact for customers, your goal is to ensure prompt, personalized service and to promote and enhance the company’s image with our customers.

What You Get to Do:

  • Respond to billing and service inquiries in person and over the phone, including connection and disconnection of services.
  • Coordinate fieldwork with service personnel and process fieldwork orders in the billing system.
  • Initiate collection actions and negotiate payment arrangements with customers in arrears.
  • Assist with power outage procedures as needed.
  • Liaise with social agencies, governments, and First Nations to seek or provide customer information and resolve account issues.
  • Process invoices and expenses from receipt to payment, and respond to vendor queries.
  • Issue accounts receivable invoices and follow up on late payments.
  • Perform other office administration duties, support tasks, and handle minor financial duties.

What You Bring:

  • High School Diploma required.
  • At least 3 years of related experience in a computerized environment.
  • Experience with accounts payable and receivable systems.
  • Proficiency with O365, MS Word, and MS Excel.
  • Knowledge of Customer Information Billing Systems, utility regulations, rate structures, emergency procedures, and industry knowledge is an asset.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills for dealing with internal and external customers.
  • Strong customer service orientation.
  • Ability to handle confrontation and diffuse emotional situations.
  • Ability to work professionally and maintain confidentiality of customer information.
