Job description

LOCATION - Dublin Airport

POSITION - Aviation Security Agent

REPORTING TO - Supervisor / Line Manager

HOURS OF WORK - As required for proper performance of duties

RATE OF PAY - €14.22 per hour plus night allowance and Sunday premium

We are currently recruiting security staff for several security airport departments. Vacancies exist within the following teams, Aviation Services, Checkpoint Operation & Hold Baggage Screening operation at Dublin Airport. All relevant training will be provided to the successful candidate.

Key Task Areas / Responsibilities

  1. To be an ambassador for the company
  2. Provide a high level of Customer Service while interacting with airlines, ground handling agents and passengers
  3. Work as part of a team
  4. Working in and around Passenger aircraft (outdoors)
  5. Performing aircraft interior and exterior searches
  6. Screening of passengers and cabin baggage items using x-ray technology, ETD sampling and conducting hand searches
  7. Screening of hold baggage items using advanced x-ray technology, ETD sampling and conducting hand searches of selected baggage.
  8. The ability to respond to security incidents and emergency situations in a calm and professional manner
  9. Ensuring the safety and security of members of the travelling public in accordance with the established procedures and policies

Successful Applications Are Expected To Have
  • Good attention to detail
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and work to procedures
  • Excellent dress code and personal presentation and hygiene
  • Excellent timekeeping and work ethic
  • Good communication skills: fluent spoken and written English
  • Ability to work in a team or unsupervised (including remote locations)
  • Flexibility with regards to working hours and able to get to the airport for a 03.00am shift start

Eligibility Criteria
  • Ability to sit, stand, bend and walk for long periods of time due to the nature of the role
  • Colour perfect vision for viewing x-ray images.
  • Successful applicants will be wearing personal protective equipment including safety shoes (provided)

If you are successful in the role you will be made a conditional offer subject to pre-employment checks and successful completion of your training. Background checks will include a Garda Vetting check and a 5-year referencing history. All of these checks need to be completed and returned to us prior to starting training. On average, this takes 4 - 6 weeks from submission of your vetting information and applications.

Training
No previous aviation security experience is required; all training will be provided by our highly experienced in-house training department. The training is regulated by the Irish Aviation Authority and includes classroom and practical & Theoretical training and examination which can take up to 30 days.
