Job summary

Evertz Microsystems is seeking an Enterprise Network Architect in Burlington, ON, Canada to design and implement IP-based media networks for broadcasters and service providers. You’ll work directly with customers, guiding architecture decisions, migration paths, and deployment strategies while ensuring high availability and scalability.

You will engage with engineering and business stakeholders, lead workshops, and stay ahead of industry standards such as SMPTE ST 2110, NMOS, and PTP.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in network architecture/engineering in mission-critical IP networks.
• Strong hands-on IP networking fundamentals: routing/switching, QoS, multicast, PTP/timing, and redundancy design.
• Familiarity with SMPTE ST 2110, NMOS, and IP-based media transport is highly desirable.
• Proven experience working directly with customers, leading technical conversations and workshops.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving in live environments.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for both engineers and executives.
• Willingness to travel to customer sites (20–40%).
• Relevant certifications a plus (CCNA/CCNP, JNCIA, or similar).
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Act as the primary technical point of contact for customers during pre-sales, design, and deployment phases of network projects.
• Design scalable IP network architectures (ST 2110/NMOS-based) tailored to customer requirements.
• Lead on-site and remote discovery sessions to assess existing infrastructure and define migration paths from SDI/baseband to IP.
• Develop network topology designs, BOMs, and technical documentation to support proposals and statements of work.
• Present architecture recommendations to customer engineering teams, operations staff, and executives.
• Partner with Sales and Product Management to scope solutions, respond to RFPs/RFIs, and support evaluations.
• Provide technical leadership during commissioning and go-live, troubleshooting with field teams.
• Serve as trusted advisor post-deployment for scale, redundancy, and future transitions (cloud/hybrid).
• Stay current on SMPTE ST 2110, NMOS, PTP, and emerging IP media trends.
