Griffith Foods is a global manufacturer of food products. We provide a wide range of taste and texture components for food industry customers throughout the world. Our products include seasoning blends, dry mixes, coating systems, dough blends, crumbs, flavors, sauces and food bases that are used in an extensive variety of application from snack foods and processed meat and poultry to ready meals. Our customers include food processors, restaurant operators and grocery retailers.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Reports directly to the Supervisor, of Griffith Foods on an ongoing basis and communicates all relevant matters pertaining to Operations.
  • Follows Good Manufacturing Practices, maintains extensive knowledge of raw materials and manufactured goods.
  • Carries out duties according to procedures and work instructions covering the tasks relating to the position’s function as outlined in the department’s quality manual, in accordance with Griffith Management System requirements.
  • Locates, weighs, counts and combines ingredients according to manufacturing formulae and production worksheets.
  • Ensures custom material is sealed, packaged, loaded, sorted and inventoried correctly.
  • Communicates with team members when custom material is short or missing.
  • Completes necessary paperwork and labels for packaging, ensuring correct information is noted as per the departmental requirements.
  • Obtains required custom material using the tow motor.
  • Delivers batched material to staging area with tow motor.
  • Solves minor packaging issues as per order requirements.
  • Always keeps work area sanitary and safe.
  • Verifies own work as follows:
  • Checks that all ingredients as required on formula are present.
  • Checks that all weights are correct.
  • Checks that final pallet is assembled correctly.
  • Communicates internally with other departments for the purpose of gathering materials and maintaining inventories. No external communication.
  • Operates forklift as required.
  • Other duties may be required as assigned.
  • Understands and follows all security policies.

What Will You Bring?

  • High school diploma – Required.
  • Previous experience in a food manufacturing environment is considered an asset.
  • Knowledge of basic mathematical foundations – Required.
  • Ability to communicate effectively – Required.
  • Physical requirements: requires lifting of up to 25 kg on a regular basis.

This is a safety sensitive position, and it requires the use of an N9 NIOSH-approved fitted respirator (“N95”) or an approved alternative. Successful candidates will be required to go through appropriate fit-testing and will be required to wear an N95 while performing their duties.
