Job summary

St. Clement's School is seeking a Custodian to join the project team in Barrie. Reporting to the Regional Operations Supervisor, you will be responsible for training custodians, identifying best practices, and completing assigned tasks. This temporary position requires at least two years of custodial experience and a valid Ontario Driver's Licence. Candidates should be capable of performing physical tasks effectively and efficiently.

Qualifications

  • Proven custodial experience with the SCDSB (2+ years required).
  • Ability to operate custodial equipment safely.
  • Physical capability to perform tasks including heavy lifting and cleaning.

Job description

Reporting to the Regional Operations Supervisor, the Custodian – Project team will be responsible for:

  • Identifying and sharing best practices on team and day shift cleaning.
  • Training custodians on equipment maintenance, new cleaning procedures, and smart cleaning practices.
  • Completing additional project tasks as assigned by the Regional Operations Supervisor.

Individuals must work shifts and travel between locations as required.

Qualifications and Skills Required :
  • At least two (2) years of custodial experience with the SCDSB.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of cleaning methods, materials, and equipment.
  • Ability to perform heavy physical tasks, including burnishing, scrubbing, refinishing floors, window cleaning, and wall washing.
  • Experience with scaffolding work, high dusting, and light cleaning.
  • Training in scaffolding, power lifts, and fall protection equipment.
  • Ability to operate building and custodial equipment.
  • Valid Ontario Driver's Licence; proof may be required upon hiring.
  • Testing may be required during the selection process.
