The Town of Watertown is seeking a Part-Time Custodian for a twenty-hour work week, responsible for routine cleaning tasks in municipally owned buildings. Applicants should have two years of custodial experience and the ability to work independently. The position offers pro-rated benefits and a starting pay of $16.35 per hour.
The Town of Watertown is accepting applications for a Part-Time Custodian. This is a unionized position based on a twenty (20) hour per week schedule and includes pro-rated benefits. The starting hourly rate of pay will be $16.35.
THE POSITION: The schedule will be Monday-Friday working four (4) hours per day. Responsible for all routine custodial tasks at municipally owned public buildings. Works under the immediate supervision of the Public Building’s Supervisor or a designed agent. Vacuums; sweeps and washes floors; cleans bathrooms and keeps them supplied with paper, tissue and soap; empties all garbage containers; dusts; washes windows; and maintains inventory of custodial supplies. Performs other related work as required.
REQUIREMENTS: Must have two years of custodial experience. Must have a considerable ability to follow instructions and complete tasks without constant follow-up. Good ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with superiors and the general public. Must have a Connecticut driver’s license or be able to obtain one in sixty (60) days. May be asked to report to work for emergency cleaning. The applicant that is selected will be subject to a background check, drug screening and a physical.
