Job summary

The One Tot Stop Day Care in Espanola is seeking a part-time custodian to clean and maintain classrooms, play areas, offices, and common spaces after school hours. The role supports a safe and hygienic environment essential for learning and play.

Evening shifts from 5:30pm to 9:30pm are available; prior experience is not required, but a current Vulnerable Sector Check will be requested.

Qualifications

• Experience is an asset, but not required.
• WHMIS certification or knowledge.
• Knowledge of MSDS sheets.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• 18 years of age and older.
• Able to work alone.
• Able to problem solve.

Responsibilities

• Cleaning and sanitizing classrooms, play areas, offices, restrooms, and common spaces to maintain hygiene standards.
• Emptying trash, vacuuming, mopping floors, washing windows and mirrors, and ensuring furniture and equipment are safe.
• Require a current Vulnerable Sector Check.

The One Tot Stop Day Care, with locations in Espanola and Massey, ensures a nurturing environment dedicated to meeting the unique needs of every child. Through play-based learning, we foster children’s development across all key domains including physical, cognitive, social-emotional, language, and early literacy skills – cultivating a lifelong love of learning.

Our custodian will ensure that the facility is clean, safe, and well-maintained, indirectly supporting the health and comfort of children and staff.

Responsibilities:

• Cleaning and sanitizing classrooms, play areas, offices, restrooms, and common spaces to prevent the spread of germs and maintain hygiene standards.
• Emptying trash, vacuuming, and mopping floors, washing windows and mirorrs, and ensuring that furniture and equipment are safe and in good condition.

Work will take place weekday evenings between 5:30pm to 9:30 pm. Successful applicants will be required to have a current Vulnerable Sector Check. While they do not provide direct childcare, their role is essential for creating a hygienic and organized environment conducive to learning and play.
