Job summary

University of Ottawa is seeking five Teaching Assistants/Demonstrators/Lab Monitors for the ADM2350 Financial Management course at the Main Campus. Roles involve assisting with contact with students, grading, and proctoring exams under the supervision of Ali Akyol.

Positions start January 4, 2027 and end April 30, 2027. Work is in person, on campus in Ottawa, with up to 87 total hours across tasks including grading (44 h), contact with students (36 h), and proctoring (7 h).

Minimum qualifications

• Strong understanding of Financial Management

• Proficiency in Excel
• Minimum C.G.P.A. of 7.0;
• Minimum grade of A- in ADM 2350 or its equivalent;
• Candidates must be able to solve financial problems using (1) Excel and (2) the CFA and LIFA approved financial calculator (Texas Instruments BAII+)
• Experience with online course delivery considered an asset
• Experience with online videoconferencing environment considered an asset (ex. Microsoft Teams

Comments

• Preference will be given to higher grades;
• Preference will be given to candidates who have previously been teaching assistants or markers for this course
• Preference will be given to candidates enrolled in Telfer programs
• Candidates on short list will be interviewed by course professor/coordinator
• Please note that the posted hours could be increased by 10% to 30% due to registration.
• Please note, you will be required to have access to a computer, internet, microphone and webcam.
• Contract hours may be reallocated among different tasks, which the professor may adjust over the course of the semester.
• Must be located in Ottawa for the entire duration of the course (with the exception of official University holidays), including through the grading of the final exam and calculation of final grades by the professor.
