Job summary

University of Ottawa invites applications for a Teaching Assistant/Demonstrator/Lab Monitor position in the Physics Department for the Biological Physics course PHY4322. Work is on main campus during the 2027 Winter Semester with in-person delivery.

Two positions are available. Work starts January 1, 2027 and ends April 30, 2027, with total 65 hours and hourly pay rates for undergraduates and graduates. Training and compliance with CUPE 2626 rules are required.

Qualifications

• Completion of four years of university-level physics or equivalent.
• Hours distribution: 45 hours grading, 10 hours problem solving, 6 hours proctoring, 4 hours other tasks.

Responsibilities

• Marking and grading of assignments, tests, midterms.
• Helping students with problem solving.
• Proctoring mid-term exams and other tasks.
• Proctoring final exam SCIXXXX as assigned.
