Job Description

Promote the effective use of Board funds in acquiring goods and services. Responsible for purchasing designated supplies, equipment, and services, ensuring compliance with laws, regulations, and policies, and providing timely procurement information using current methods.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support procurement activities for internal clients.
  • Conduct market research to inform purchasing decisions and reduce costs.
  • Prepare and issue RFPs, RFQs, and tenders.
  • Administer contracts and monitor vendor performance.
  • Provide high-quality customer service to schools and departments.
  • Review purchase requisitions for policy compliance.
  • Assist in process improvements and prepare reports.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Diploma or degree in a business-related field.
  • 3-5 years' experience in public procurement, with knowledge of legislation, practices, and bidding processes.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and teamwork skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Sparkrock 365, and other software.
  • Valid Ontario Driver's license and access to a vehicle.
  • Completion or pursuit of Principles of Effective Public Purchasing Certificate; CPPB certification is an asset.
  • Strong math skills and written/oral communication skills.
