University of Ottawa is hiring two Teaching Assistant positions for the Winter 2027 term at the Main Campus. You will lead software lab and tutorial sessions, mark assignments, and proctor exams in a hands-on in-person setting.

The roles are remunerated as TA rates and are evaluated under the CUPE collective agreement. Applicants should have completed the relevant course with an A or better and be prepared for an interview.

Number of positions: 2 Expected Enrolment: 90 Work Start Date: January 01, 2027 Work End Date: April 30, 2027 Total Work Hours: 130 Hourly Rate: AE-RA-Tuteur / TA-RA-Tutor : $33.83 ou/or $53.31 (Sept. 2026 - Aug. 2027) Undergraduate students will be paid at the lower rate; while graduate students will be paid at the higher rate. These rates do not include vacation pay nor statutory pay.

Requirements and Nature of Work

To lead software lab and tutorial sessions. To mark assignments. To help in the improvement of the lab examples and descriptions. Proctoring exams.

Minimum Requirements

Preference will be given to candidates who have completed this course or its equivalent and its prerequisite(s) with a mark of A or better. Attend a TA workshop if necessary. Must be ready for an interview if considered for this position. If the responsibilities include DGD and/or TUT and/or LAB supervision or teaching, the applicant must be available for these. Working knowledge of behavioral modeling (state machines, Specification and Description Language, and Petri Nets), compilers, and concurrency.
