CUPE 2331 Supply Library Technician

Wage: $33.28 per hour

Position Summary:

Under the supervision of the School Principal and in collaboration with the Teacher-Librarian, the Supply Library Technician organizes and maintains library materials, manages library systems and equipment, and ensures smooth library operations for students and staff.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Assist students and staff with using library resources and specialized equipment, and address reference questions.
  • Assist in book exchange procedures.
  • Maintain adherence to order, rules, and protocols for proper library usage as established by the Teacher-Librarian and School Principal.
  • Manage collections, technical equipment, acquisitions, and perform clerical duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • High school graduation plus a 2-year post-secondary diploma or equivalent.
  • Diploma in Library and Information Technician.

Experience:

  • Minimum of one year of relevant experience.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Computer literacy in circulation and cataloguing systems.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Initiative and adaptability.
