Job summary

Musqueam invites applications for a Culture and Wellness Worker to walk alongside community members on wellness journeys within Musqueam territory in Vancouver. The role emphasizes culturally safe practices, addressing intergenerational trauma and systemic racism, and supports referrals and group activities.

The position focuses on one-on-one counseling, promoting cultural wellness, organizing therapeutic groups, and liaising with the Primary Care Clinic and other service providers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology or other social sciences. or an equivalent combination of experience and education.
• At least 3-5 years’ experience in the mental health field.
• Understanding of First Nations health systems and Musqueam community.

Responsibilities

• One-on-one counselling sessions with Primary Care Clinic clients.
• Support cultural wellness aligned with Musqueam traditions.
• Facilitate group cultural wellness and healing activities.
• Liaise with Primary Care Network and other service providers.
• Maintain confidential client files per policies.
