One of the sunniest regions in BC’s Lower Mainland, Delta embraces three unique communities – Ladner, North Delta and Tsawwassen. The City of Delta is looking for dedicated individuals to join our team and share in our commitment to lead the way in public service excellence.

City of Delta is seeking a dynamic, creative, and energetic Instructor to teach full-day cultural arts camps for children and youth. Camps run daily from 9:00 am - 3:30 pm, Monday to Friday, in three locations: North Delta, Ladner, and Tsawwassen during July and August 2025. Camp leaders are responsible for planning and delivering engaging courses in visual or performing arts.

These camps introduce students to various art or performance mediums, fostering growth through artistic expression. Camp leaders act as teachers, facilitators, counsellors, artists, and mentors, working with youth volunteers and providing mentoring. They must maintain a safe, inclusive environment catering to diverse learning styles and abilities.

Supervised by experienced program staff, camp leaders will have opportunities for mentorship into responsible, passionate cultural service leaders.

Requirements

  • Experience teaching visual or performing arts to children aged 6-12
  • Formal training is an asset but not required; a love for arts and passion for teaching are essential
  • Classroom management skills
  • Lesson planning abilities
  • Ability to work independently
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Energetic, engaging, patient
  • Valid First Aid Certificate with CPR
  • Reliable transportation to North Delta, Ladner, and Tsawwassen

This position is funded by the Canada Summer Jobs program. Applicants must be aged 15-30 at the start of employment and able to work 30 hours/week.
