As a Cultural Knowledge Keeper at Ravensview, you will be an integral part of a collaborative, culturally-competent, interdisciplinary team focused on delivering seamless services and programs to our clients and customers. Homewood Ravensview is a private 75-bed mental health, trauma, and addiction facility offering evidence-based, medically-led inpatient services for first responders, military, veterans, executives & professionals, adults, and young adults. Located in North Saanich on 28 acres of forested hillside, it provides a comfortable and safe environment with serene ocean views, spacious rooms, welcoming common areas, and a world-class team of physicians, psychiatrists, counselors, and 24-hour nursing professionals.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Providing patients with cultural support through singing, drumming, art, daily prayers, storytelling, and gatherings
  • Designing resources, workshops, special events, and activities for patients and staff, incorporating Indigenous knowledge, practices, and ceremonies
  • Delivering one-on-one sessions focused on supporting learning about culture, ancestors, spirituality, and connection to the land
  • Documenting patient sessions in Caseworks, our electronic medical record system
  • Ensuring cultural practices and programs support patients' mental, physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being, designed from an Indigenous perspective aligned with harm reduction philosophies
  • Preparing reports, planning, and communication related to programming and events
  • Attending interdisciplinary team meetings and collaborating with the broader Ravensview team regarding individual client care
What We’re Looking For
  • Degree or Diploma in Social Work, Indigenous Studies, NNADAP, or Health-Related Fields
  • Strong understanding of Indigenous culture, community groups, agencies, and current issues affecting Indigenous communities
  • Experience managing Indigenous programs and services, with a focus on Mental Health and Addiction philosophies using an Indigenous lens
  • Strong knowledge of Indigenous knowledge systems, nations, and communities; familiarity with Coast Salish protocols and culture is an asset
  • Knowledge of local Indigenous traditions, ceremonies, teachings, practices, and social determinants of health in an Indigenous context
  • Community engagement, program development, and implementation experience
  • Ability to engage diverse communities
  • Strong presentation, facilitation, and organizational skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
