Job summary

Aramark is hiring a Food Service Worker to assist with menu preparation, maintain records, and uphold high standards of food safety and cleanliness. Role involves serving meals, operating kitchen equipment, and daily communication with the manager.

Ideal candidates will have a Food Service Certificate, read/write English proficiently, and be able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment. This position is based in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

Qualifications

• Reading, writing and following verbal and written instructions.
• Be able to work quickly and concisely under pressure.
• Food Service Certificate as needed (where required).

Responsibilities

• Prepare quality food and baked goods according to a planned menu.
• Prepare a daily report that verifies transactions.
• Understand what is inclusive of a meal.
• Ensure storage of food in a sanitary manner.
• Serve food according to meal schedules and policies.
• Use and care of kitchen equipment, especially knives.
• Timely preparation of a variety of food items and beverages.
• Add garnishments to enhance customer happiness and eye appeal.
• Coordinate and assist in cleaning refrigerators, freezers, and equipment.
• Adhere to all food safety regulations for sanitation and storage.
• Follow established uniform policies.
• Connect with the Manager daily to understand and prepare the day’s menu.
