Our Oil Trading team in Calgary is looking for a highly successful individual to join our team as a Crude Oil Trader. Our desk trades across the entire barrel of oil products with a wide range of customers including producers, refiners, consumers, investors and is focused on growing its customer franchise via participation in both physical and futures markets.

What role will you play?

In this role, you will manage the risk, exposure and execution for commercial trading and logistics for the physical Canadian oil markets. On a day-to-day basis you will negotiate and execute contracts for the purchase and sale of oil and petroleum products, understand market trends, geopolitical factors, and economic indicators to make informed decisions and play a crucial role in coordinating the physical movement of oil, from production sites to refineries and final distribution points.

What You Offer

  • 3+ years commercial experience, preferably including trading and logistics in crude oil commodities
  • Deep focus in Canadian Oil Markets, trade flows and experience in blending and optimization of crudes
  • Knowledge of refinery operations and sourcing requirements for optimization of crude oil slate
  • Good risk management and understanding of implied exposure & optionality within contracts and the overall book
  • Entrepreneurial spirit with ability to leverage a trading toolkit of the business and strong communication skills with the ability to express and share views on the Canadian oil market.
