Job description

Join our dedicated Campbell River Court Administration team an established group committed to supporting access to justice through Provincial and Supreme Court matters. Our team of seven includes Court / Registry Clerks a Registry Technician a Justice of the Peace and experienced managers all working together to handle cases ranging from criminal and family to civil and appeals. In this role youll collaborate closely with other justice partners and court staff in a supportive environment where teamwork and dedication drive meaningful impact within B.C.s court system.

The Role

Step into a fulfilling role where youll handle a wide range of tasks from helping ensure smooth court operations to managing trust funds scheduling interpreters and maintaining accurate records. Your contributions will play an important role in providing access to justice offering friendly and competent service to all who rely on us. This is a fastpaced environment where no two days are alike providing the opportunity to work with a dedicated team and make a meaningful impact every day. As a Court Clerk you will play a vital role in managing court procedures ensuring accurate documentation and assisting the public with accessing court records and filing documents. In this position you will have the chance to collaborate with justice partners including the Judiciary RCMP and Crown Counsel making a real difference in supporting a fair and accessible legal system. This unique opportunity offers diverse learning experiences across Provincial and Supreme Court operations in Criminal Civil and Family law allowing you to build valuable skills relationships and even travel as part of your role.

Qualifications :

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Must have Secondary school graduation or equivalent (GED)
  • Must have 1years experience working in an office environment OR 1years combination of customer service clerical duties office experience and / or related education
  • Must have a minimum of 1 year experience in keyboarding data entry word processing standard computer applications and software programs (e.g. Windows MS Word Excel Outlook)
  • Must have a minimum of 40 WPM keyboarding

Preference may be given to applicants with one (1) or more of the following :

  • 1 year of previous work experience in a court or legal environment
  • Experience as a court clerk and / or registry clerk
  • Experience in Court Programs and Applications (JUSTIN CEIS ARC CTAS CCD)
  • Unionmembership is required
  • Attendance and completion of relevant training is required
  • May be required to work flexible hours including varied shifts and overtime on short notice
  • May be required to travel including travel in adverse weather conditions and work in other geographical areas including circuit court locations. Must have reliable transportation and / or be willing to travel with others
  • Able to lift heavy objects up to 30 lbs
