Department of Justice and Public Safety in New Brunswick seeks a Lawyer or Senior Lawyer to join the Edmundston Crown Prosecutors Office. The role involves handling criminal prosecutions, advising on investigations, and appearing in multiple levels of court across New Brunswick.

Successful candidates will have a law degree, articling completion, and NB bar membership or eligibility, with English and French language competence. Travel and security clearances are common requirements.

Competenze

Law degree and completion of Articling with membership in good standing or eligibility for membership to the Law Society of New Brunswick.
Criminal history clearance and security clearance checks required.
Experience in criminal prosecutions and court litigation is preferred.

Mansioni

Handle criminal and quasi-criminal prosecutions in all levels of Court for offences under the Criminal Code of Canada, Youth Criminal Justice Act, and related statutes.
Provide advice to law enforcement on investigations and on laying charges; prepare for trials including witness interviews and legal research.
Appear before Provincial Court, Court of King's Bench and Court of Appeal of New Brunswick; participate in pre-trial preparation.
