Qualifications

  • Must have experience as an Advanced Care Paramedic or Firefighter.
  • Fire Certifications including NFPA 1001 and 1002 are required.

Job description

Overall Purpose of Job

To provide effective emergency response.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Assist with all required reports and documentation as needed
  2. Attend safety/toolbox meetings
  3. Participate in drills, inspections, and all other site-related duties as assigned
  4. Maintain standards of practice consistent with the provincial governing regulatory body
  5. Comply with International SOS Policies and Procedures
  6. Ensure that patients are managed in a professional and friendly manner
  7. Ensure equipment and transport vehicles are ready 24/7 to undertake all medical retrieval services
  8. Participate in emergency response services as required
  9. Participate in ongoing continuing medical education provided by International SOS
  10. Operate within boundaries of the provincial licences of the incumbent
  11. Assist with the internal training program on site by preparing training sessions as requested
  12. Any other duties that may be requested from time to time by management
  13. Ensure International SOS and the client are represented in a professional manner
  14. Participate in required drills/skills testing
About You

Must-haves (minimum requirements):

  • Work experience as an Advanced Care Paramedic/Firefighter
  • Fire Certifications (not limited to):
  • NFPA 1001 Level 1 and 2
  • NFPA 1002 Level 1 and 2
  • NFPA 1006 Rope Rescue or equivalent to NFPA
  • NFPA 1006 Confined Space or equivalent to NFPA
  • NFPA 472 Hazmat

• Exceptional collaboration skills and ability to work under pressure
• Current registration with the Alberta College of Paramedics
• A valid driver’s license and a clean driving record

Preference for:

  • Experience in an industrial setting
  • High level of knowledge and ability to interpret relevant medical and operational guidelines, protocols, policies, and procedures
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
  • Ability to collaborate with others to achieve the best results and deliver value
  • Ability to hold others accountable and expect accountability in return
Work Environment and Schedule

• Work out of camp-based client sites with accommodations and meals provided

• Schedule varies from 2 weeks on/2 weeks off to 3 weeks on/3 weeks off

• On-call and extended hours may be required after hours based on operational needs
