Qualifications

  • Work experience as an Advanced Care Paramedic/Firefighter.
  • Current registration with the Alberta College of Paramedics.
  • Fire Certifications including NFPA 1001 and 1002.

Responsibilities

  • Provide effective emergency response and manage patients professionally.
  • Participate in drills, inspections, and ongoing training.
  • Ensure equipment readiness for medical retrieval services.

Overall Purpose of Job

To provide effective emergency response.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with all required reports and documentation as needed
  • Attend safety/toolbox meetings
  • Participate in drills, inspections, and all other site-related duties as assigned
  • Maintain standards of practice consistent with the provincial governing regulatory body
  • Comply with International SOS Policies and Procedures
  • Ensure that patients are managed in a professional and friendly manner
  • Ensure equipment and transport vehicles are ready 24/7 to undertake all medical retrieval services
  • Participate in emergency response services as required
  • Participate in ongoing continuing medical education provided by International SOS
  • Operate within boundaries of the provincial licences of the incumbent
  • Assist with the internal training program on site by preparing training sessions as requested
  • Any other duties that may be requested from time to time by management
  • Ensure International SOS and the client are represented in a professional manner
  • Participate in required drills/skills testing

About You

Must-haves (minimum requirements):

  • Work experience as an Advanced Care Paramedic/Firefighter
  • Fire Certifications(not limited to):
  • NFPA 1001 Level 1 and 2
  • NFPA 1002 Level 1 and 2
  • NFPA 1006 Rope Rescue Or Equivalent to NFPA
  • NFPA 1006 Confined Space Or Equivalent to NFPA
  • NFPA 472 Hazmat
  • Exceptional collaboration with other groups and the ability to work under pressure
  • Current registration with the Alberta College of Paramedics
  • A valid driver’s license and a clean driving record
  • Alignment with our values of expertise,passion,respect and care

Preference For

  • Experience in an industrial setting
  • A high level of knowledge and the ability to interpret relevant medical and operational guidelines, protocols, policies and procedures
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
  • Collaborate with others in order to achieve the best results and deliver the most value
  • Hold others accountable, and expect others to do the same

Where you’ll be working, your work schedule, and other important information:

  • You will work out of our camp-based client sites. Accommodations & meals provided
  • The working schedule varies from 2 weeks on to 2 weeks off to 3 weeks on 3 weeks off
  • On-call and extended hours may be required after hours when operational and business requirements indicate
