Job summary

Harrier Transport Inc. in Canada is expanding its long-haul team. We are seeking a skilled Long Haul Truck Driver to operate tractor-trailer units on cross-border Canada–USA routes in compliance with all federal and provincial regulations.

You will perform pre-trip inspections, maintain accurate logs and documentation, ensure proper load securement, and communicate with dispatch to handle delays or issues. A valid Class 1 license, ELD experience, and knowledge of HOS rules are essential.

Qualifications

• Completion of secondary school (high school diploma or equivalent) is required.
• Completion of a recognized truck driver training program is an asset.
• Minimum 2 years of verifiable long-haul truck driving experience.

Responsibilities

• Operate long-haul tractor-trailer units on cross-border Canada–USA routes in compliance with all applicable federal and provincial transportation regulations.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle in accordance with NSC standards and company safety protocols.
• Ensure accurate and timely completion of logbooks, trip inspection reports, bills of lading, and all required documentation.
• Transport a variety of freight including general cargo, ensuring proper securement of loads in compliance with cargo securement regulations.
• Communicate proactively with dispatch regarding route progress, delays, mechanical issues, or any incidents encountered during transit.
• Adhere strictly to Hours of Service (HOS) regulations as prescribed by Transport Canada and applicable US FMCSA rules.
• Maintain the assigned vehicle in clean and roadworthy condition; report maintenance requirements to management promptly.
• Cross international borders in compliance with customs regulations and present all required documentation to border authorities.
• Follow all company policies, health and safety procedures, and applicable traffic laws at all times.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management related to the safe and efficient operation of the vehicle.
