A leading healthcare provider in southwestern British Columbia is seeking a Crisis Services Nurse. This role involves crisis intervention, nursing assessments, and collaboration within a multidisciplinary team. Candidates should have a strong background in mental health and substance use management, along with effective communication and organizational skills.

As a member of a multidisciplinary care team in various community settings, the Crisis Services Nurse provides crisis intervention and stabilization, nursing and clinical assessments, consultation, and referrals for clients presenting in person, by referral, or via the Crisis Services Network, dealing with mental health and/or alcohol and drug use crises.
Registration with BC College of Nurses and Midwives as a practicing RN or RPN. Recognized post-basic education related to psychiatric nursing and/or mental illness; at least two (2) years of recent related experience. Strong understanding of mental health, alcohol and drug use/withdrawal management, and concurrent disorder issues. Knowledge of relevant legislation such as the Mental Health Act and the Guardianship Act. Familiarity with available community programs, their interrelationships, and their role in delivering care to individuals with mental illnesses, addiction, and/or concurrent disorders. Knowledge of mental health and substance use triage, assessments, crisis intervention strategies, and community dynamics; or an equivalent combination of education and training.
